Alan Rustom is a construction professional with over 16 years of experience primarily in project controls, construction claims and contract law. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Ottawa and a Master of Science in Construction Law and Arbitration from Robert Gordon University in Scotland. His experience spans quantum remediation claims, forensic engineering claims, delay and disruption claims, change management, scheduling support, risk and contract management.

Alan’s experience also includes working on multi-million-dollar projects for an overseas builder where he developed his expertise in negotiating and drafting contracts, contract administration, change management, claims management and dispute resolution. His role was managerial in nature, overseeing multiple projects, including the firm’s project management and project controls team. His diverse experience makes him a valuable part of a team. Alan has worked with many different project delivery models including design build, design-finance-build-operate and fixed-priced build contracts, as well as P3 government projects.

In addition to Alan’s degrees, he holds a diploma in advanced mediation studies and has mediation training and experience accredited in the UK. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb) and currently holds a Professional Engineer designation with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) and Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).
